Mr. McIntyre has 35 years experience in the management, operation and design of mines, including underground base and precious metals and surface hard-rock, coal and alluvial operations. He has been engaged in providing advice in the management, assessment and redirection of underperforming mines and projects. Mr. McIntyre graduated with a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) Mining degree in Mining Engineering from the University of New South Wales in 1971. He worked in industry as a mining engineer in operating mining companies for a period of 18 years, during which time he held various technical and management positions, including General Manager of Operations and Chief Executive Officer. In that period, he worked as a professional engineer for Cobar Mines Pty Limited (CSA Copper Mine), Utah Development Company (Goonyella Coal Mine), Pancontinental Mining Limited (Jabiluka Uranium Project and Paddington Gold Mine) and Arco Australia (Curragh Coal Mine). He is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy, in 1969), a Member of the Minerals Industry Consultants Association and a Chartered Professional Mining Engineer. In 1994, John was appointed the founding Managing Director of Behre Dolbear Australia Pty Limited, the Sydney-based subsidiary of the US group, Behre Dolbear and Company Inc. Mr. McIntyre has led mining and mineral resource development projects in Australia, New Zealand, West Africa, PNG, China, the Philippines, Vietnam, Indonesia, Laos and North America and has expertise in management strategic planning, technical audit, economic evaluation, mine design and feasibility study review for new and existing operations.
