Mr. Cooper has been with Behre Dolbear & Company, Inc. since 1994. He is a principal and a director of the firm and serves as its Global Director of Coal Services. He is currently president of the subsidiary company, Behre Dolbear & Company (USA), Inc. He has diverse experience in coal mining, preparation, marketing, transportation and utilization. His 35 years in the coal industry have included project valuation, corporate start-ups, mergers and acquisitions, and business re-engineering. He has worked for large, publicly held corporations and small, private companies. Mr. Cooper has dealt with the American utility and industrial segments, the Latin American steel industry and the Asian steel and utility industries. He has administered all aspects of short-term and long-term coal supply contracts, including their transportation and quality control provisions. He specializes in the practical aspects of project development and management, including infrastructure analysis, human resources issues, capital and operating budgets and strategic long-term planning. He often serves as an expert witness in the arbitration and litigation of coal supply contract disputes.
